■ Overview
The national standard of box-type substation is defined as “high/low voltage prefabricated substation”, generally known as “box-type substation”.
Box-type substation is a power distribution unit made up of high voltage switchgear, power transformers and low voltage switchgear, which is widely used in urban power grid reconstruction, and high-rise apartment, residential areas, industrial parks, commercial centers, airports, stations, terminals, schools, factories and industrial enterprises, etc because of its flexibility and convenience in use, small footprint, low cost, fast construction, high reliability and nice appearance compared with the substation needing civil construction.

■ Structural features
Compact structure, small footprint, high strength, easy transportation and installation. Users can choose different structural forms according to the needs.
Substation box includes steel plate box and aluminum box, with molded steel frame welded or bolted; its structure is divided into high-voltage chamber, transformer vault and the low-voltage chamber. The base is the welded steel channel, with high overall strength. Door and the outer wall are made of steel plate, composite board or aluminum alloy after anticorrosion treatment, qualified for long-term outdoor use, with anticorrosion, waterproof, dustproof performance, the outline includes common type and scenery type, etc, which can meet the use requirements in different occasions. The substation enclosure has ventilation and insulation and dust filtration devices, room temperature monitor and anti-condensation device can be installed on demand.
Substation is equipped with a sound mechanical or electrical interlock, meeting the “Five –prevention” requirements, as well as improved detection, control and protection measures, and can be used with FTU system to achieve the automation of distribution network system.
YB series prefabricated substation is arranged in the shape of the word “eye” and “triple-lap”, and may be arranged in the other forms is needed.

■ Advantages
● complete and reliable functions: the load current can be cut off for current protection of full range, including two wiring and power supply modes of ring network (dual power) and terminals, provided with the basic functions of civil substation;
● less investment, small footprint, easy to install, fastening the power supply progress:
a. less investment: less investment than civil substation;
b. small footprint: only about 1/5 of civil substation volume;
c. easy to install: field staff simply tighten the four mounting bolts and connect the inlet and outlet cables and grounding cable.
● Safe and reliable power supply: fully enclosed design and fully insulated structure, high degree of protection, not less than IP33, perfect mechanical or electrical interlock, meeting the “Five-prevention” requirements to ensure personal safety;
● high-performance transformer: D, yn11 connection is used, with small harmonic component, high voltage quality, good waveform and stable operation under unbalanced three-phase load;
● easy to maintain: plug-type fuses and fully insulated elbow cable head facilitate the replacement and maintenance
